Windows 7 Help and Support - Your Personal Virtual Assistant


The Windows 7 Help and Support is a resource of information, training, and support to help you learn and use Windows 7.

You can use the Help and Support to search for the topic that you wish to learn from the table of contents or online resources.

When you connect to the Internet, you can get online help from a support professional at Microsoft or from other users in Windows communities, invite a friend to chat with you, etc.


To use the Windows 7 Help and Support

  • Click the Start button, and then click Help and Support.
  • Windows 7 Help and Support

  • Click a toolbar button or the link in the Not sure where to start? section.

  • - How to get started with your computer - Displays a list of links to topics ranging from Protecting Your Computer to Installing Programs.
    - Learn about Windows Basics - Displays a list of links to basic topics divided into the several main categories.
    - Browse Help topics - Displays a table of contents with links to topics ranging from Getting Started to Hardware, Devices, and Drivers.

  • Click the item of interest and read the information.
  • Else, you can use the Search Help box, by type a word or phrase on it, and then press Enter.
  • There are few buttons at the top of the screen that allows you to go back, forward, print the help and so on.
  • Once finish, click the Close button.


To use the Windows 7 online support

  • Click the Start button, and then click Help and Support.
  • Click the More support options at the bottom of the window.

  • From the Windows Help and Support window, click an Internet resource link available:
  • - Windows Remote Assistance - Click the link, and then follow the wizard instructions.
    - Microsoft Answers or Microsoft Customer Support - Click the link to access the Microsoft site.

  • To go back, click the Back button of the screen.
  • Once finish, click the Close button.


Note: You need to connect to the Internet to use the online support.
